Quality accommodation in former village school located in quiet village only a few miles west of Ely. The village can be accessed from either the A10 or A142 and is convenient for Ely, Newmarket, Cambridge, the Fens, Thetford Forest and the Norfolk coast. The Old School is set in an acre of gardens and horse paddocks, with excellent views across the Fens onto Ely Cathedral.

Kettle's Cottage is a Grade II listed 17th century thatched cottage which offers bed and breakfast in a self-contained annexe in picturesque Great Wilbraham near Cambridge. Off road parking and internet access are available and dogs are welcome. There is a pub with a gourmet restaurant two minutes walk from the cottage.

This Cambridge B&B, highly rated by The Guardian newspaper and Lonely Planet, also has a fantastic location just 3 minutes walk from the Railway Station and close to the centre, University colleges and Addenbrooke's Hospital. It was the extra touches ( freshly baked muffins, home-made conserves and fruit for breakfast, flowers on the tables etc) that ensured the good reviews.

Burwell, Cambridgeshire. One of the largest villages in Cambridgeshire and the centre of barge-building, turf and other industries. The rebel Geoffrey de Mandevitle was killed here in 1144. It is the site of a 12th century castle, of which all that remains is the moat. The Church of St Mary is a fine example of the spaciousness and brightness of the Perpendicular style. The interior is mainly built of clunch, hard East Anglian chalk. Over the chancel arch may be seen some beautifully carved tracery enclosing a “wheel” window which is unusual in that the spokes are replaced by whirl-like arms known as mouchettes.
The village contains a number of very attractive buildings as well as two windmills, only one of which is in working order.
Two miles South West is Swaffham Prior famous for having two churches in one churchyard. St Mary's, with its octagonal tower on a sturdy Norman base, will remind the visitor of the great octagon at Ely. St Cyriac's also has an octagonal tower, but the rest of the building has become derelict.
Swaffham Prior House was built in 1753 but even more interesting is Baldwin Manor, a beautiful half-timbered building from the first half of the 16th century. Two windmills, one preserved and one derelict, echo the two churches. Windmill Hill gives wonderful views of the chalk heights above the Icknield Way.
