Visit Tarbet and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:
Tarbet, Argyll and Bute. This Tarbet (not Tarbert) is a township on the West shore of Loch Lomond at the point where the road to Inveraray crosses the narrow neck of land to Arrochar.
The population was increased when houses were put up by the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board for their maintenance staff on the Sloy scheme.
As has been described under Arrochar, this Tarbet was the scene of an astonishing feat when, before the Battle of Largs, some Norsemen dragged their ships overland into the fresh water of Loch Lomond and ravaged the interior of Scotland.
