Visit and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:

Bowmore, Argyll and Bute, is on the Island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides. The largest village and the unofficial capital of the island, it was laid out in 1768 with wide streets — the principal one leading up the hill from the shore of Lochindaal to Killarrow parish church. This was built in 1769 by Daniel Campbell of Islay, and is the only round church built in Scotland at that period. The former church was at what is now Bridgend, 3 miles North East of Bowmore; here the churchyard contains some interesting carved stones. Islay House stands at the head of Lochindaal, just beyond Bridgend.
