Worthing, West Sussex. Worthing has all the amenities of a large town, including the Connaught Theatre, as well as the attractions of an increasingly popular seaside resort, and extensive sand and shingle beaches. Sea fishing is excellent, from the beaches or from boats.

At the Museum are displayed local finds from prehistoric times, flint tools from Cissbury Ring and later civilizations - Roman, Romano-British and Anglo-Saxon.

At Highdown Hill, 3 miles north west of Worthing, a 50-acre archaeological site has yielded evidence of a late Bronze Age settlement beneath an Iron Age hill-fort. Pagan Saxons later buried their dead within the ramparts.
