A walk 1 mile north east of Witney leads to the little village of North Leigh, Oxfordshire, with a romantic disused windmill on its hill-top. The church has an Anglo-Saxon tower and Norman and later work. The Wilcoate Chapel has a Perpendicular fan tracery roof, while the north aisle is in 18th-century Classical style. It also possesses an unusual collection of coffin plates.
A short walk to the north east leads to the remains of a Roman villa, with a tessellated pavement and a hypocaust or central-heating system.
