Visit Narberth and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:

Narberth, Pembrokeshire (Sir Benfro), is 10 miles due East of Haverford. It is not its old castle of squared Conquest type, with its impressive main gateway that stirs one's thoughts, but the older recollections inspired by the first pages of the Mabinogion. For that late medieval version of far more ancient philosophies makes Narberth the chief seat of Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed, Lord of Days, who met while hunting there the hounds of the Underworld cried to the hunt by Arawn of the Silver Tongue, Lord of Hades and of Night. Hounds they were such as man did not know, for their hair was of brilliant white, and their ears were red; and, as the whiteness of their bodies shone, so did the redness of their ears. Somewhere below the Preseli hills to the North, that Underworld may yet be found, or imagined, with its beautiful buildings and its youths and maidens in rich apparel of red, green, and yellow.
