Biss Barn was originally a barn for the neighbouring farmhouse and, as it's no longer a working farm, the barn was sold and converted to a house in 1992 and is now our family home as well as providing guest accommodation with en-suite facilities and a full english breakfast. Also by the house we have 2 holiday cottages, which can be booked all through the year.

Melksham, Wiltshire. In medieval times Melksham was rather cut off by the surrounding forest. But since then it has developed into a busy industrial town set on the Avon. Mostly stone-built, some 17th- and 18th-century houses are gathered near the church, west of which there is a l4th-century tithe barn, now used as a school. At one time Melksham tried to become a spa, but all that is left of that short-lived experiment is the now converted pump-room and a fine crescent of houses on the Devizes road.
