Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. A popular seaside resort, with good sand beaches. It has the usual resort amenities and all kinds of recreation and sport: bowls, golf, riding and yachting. There is an excellent yacht club, and first-class angling in the sea, the River Rother, and in local reservoirs. A feature is the De La Warr Pavilion, designed in 1935—6 by the former Bauhaus architects Mendelsohn and Chermayeff.
A popular annual event is the summer Festival of Music, which includes morning lectures on music.
