Taynuilt, Argyll and Bute. The village of Taynuilt, at the place where the Pass of Brander meets Loch Etive, is a holiday resort for anglers and climbers of Ben Cruachan. It lies across the river from Bonawe. Near Muckairn Church in the village is a monument to Lord Nelson, a large standing stone of unknown antiquity re-erected in 1805 (the year of Trafalgar) by workmen at the Bonawe furnace. This was the first of the many Nelson monuments in Britain and was put up before his burial.
