Ramsey, Isle of Man. The second—largest town on the island is sheltered by the northern tip of the hills that tower above. Robert the Bruce landed here in 1313 and snatched the island, for a time, for Scotland. In the 40—acre Mooragh Park, palm trees surround a 12-acre lake and give boating an exotic, tropical-lagoon flavour.
