Horning, Norfolk. A well known Broadland centre on the River Bure, with many picturesque cottages and occasional and attractive glimpses of the river from the main street. The Church of St Benedict has pinnacles representing the four Evangelists, and is mainly 13th- and 14th-century. It has some carved benchends, with fantastic imagery. The Priest's Doorway is 13th-century and has carved dogtooth ornament.
One mile east of the church on the road to St Benet's Abbey was St James's Hospital. All that remains is the chapel which is now a barn in Horning Hall.
