Carradale, Argyll and Bute. Standing on the East coast of Kintyre, the village of Carradale looks across the Kilbrennan sound at the narrowest part (3 miles wide) to the island of Arran. It is now largely a holiday centre in the spring and summer, with a mild, moist climate. Carradale Water, which debouches into Carradale Bay, is an excellent salmon river.
A vitrified fort occupies the central part of Carradale Point, a narrow peninsula that may be isolated at high water. The fort is oval and measures about 190 ft by 75 ft.
