Visit Abberley and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:

Abberley, Worcestershire. To the North of Great Witley rise the Abberley Hills with views across into Herefordshire. On the northern side of the hills is the village of Abberley with an attractive old country church which is partly in ruins and a somewhat grand Victorian church just outside the village, built in the mid-l9th century in late 13th-century style. The rectory is pre-Reformation and mostly ruined, though its solar still has its timber-framing intact and the roof over the original hall. The mid-l9th-century Abberley Hall, just outside the village, came into the Jones family from the Moilliets, who employed Dawkes to build the house in an Italianate style. It is now a school. Joseph Jones's son John built a fantastic Gothic clock tower in 1883 between the Abberley and Woodbury Hills to the memory of his father and, according to gossip, to impress his noble neighbour at Witley Court. It is very high and visible for miles around. Its 20 bells are so tuned that 42 different melodies can be rung out over the countryside. It was soon known as Jones's Folly.
